This is more than a photography expedition — it is a journey into the heart of wild, inaccessible territories where ordinary tourists never set foot. The snow leopard is only the motivation; the true reward is an encounter with pristine nature, vast mountain valleys, and a deep sense of harmony with the wilderness.
Horseback travel: Transfers between ranger posts and exploration of remote areas accessible only on horseback.
Strategic observation points: All observation sites are located near active camera traps to maximize the chances of wildlife encounters.
Optimal observation times: From 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., when snow leopards are most active.

Expedition Program
Day 1 – Arrival and Rest
Meet at the airport, breakfast en route, and transfer to a hotel near Issyk-Kul Lake. Check-in and rest after the journey. In the evening, dinner at the hotel, introduction to the expedition team, and a presentation with a lecture on Tien Shan snow leopards.
Day 2 – Mountain Transfer and Acclimatization
In the morning, we travel to the Teskey Range. Accommodation in a guesthouse at approximately 3,200 meters above sea level. The day is dedicated to acclimatization and preparation for fieldwork.
Day 3 – Entering the Nature Reserve
Cross a high mountain pass to reach the base camp. Accommodation in a yurt at a ranger post. Acclimatization day, reconnaissance of the surrounding area, and discussion of the fieldwork strategy.
Day 4 – First Mountain Expedition
Hike into mountain gorges for wildlife observations. Option to spend the night in a tent at a remote location for full immersion in the wilderness, or return to the base camp.
Day 5 – Continued Observations
Fieldwork in the mountains and gorges, searching for signs of snow leopards and other wildlife. Overnight camping under the open sky or return to the base camp.
Day 6 – Active Mountain Fieldwork
Morning radial excursions around the base camp on horseback. Continued work in nearby gorges. In the evening, the team decides on the next overnight stay: at base camp or in tents at a remote location, depending on reconnaissance results.
Day 7 – Completion of Field Observations
Continue work in the mountains and gorges, collecting observation data. Later, transfer to a guesthouse. Accommodation and rest.
Day 8 – Return to Civilization
Departure to the city, lunch en route. Hotel accommodation and dinner at an ethnic restaurant. Summary and reflection on the expedition.
Day 9 – Transfer and Departure
Transfer to the airport and departure home.
